The Department of Defense's largest combat support agency, the DLA provides logistics support to US military, civilian agencies, and foreign countries for peace and wartime operations, as well as emergency preparedness and humanitarian missions. With some 21,000 military and civilian employees working in 48 states and 28 countries, the DLA supplies almost every consumable item the US military needs such as food, clothing, protective gear, medical supplies, construction materials, and fuel. It also supplies 95% of repair parts for aircraft, tanks, and other weapons.
The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) is the Army’s corporate basic and applied research laboratory. Their mission is to provide innovative science, technology, and analysis to enable full-spectrum operations. ARL consists of the Army Research Office (ARO) and six Directorates-- Weapons and Materials, Sensors and Electron Devices, Human Research and Engineering, Computational and Information Sciences, Vehicle Technology, and Survivability and Lethality Analysis. The Army relies on this ARL Team for scientific discoveries, technologic advances, and analyses to provide warfighters with capabilities to succeed on the battlefield.
